# Metadata Management System (MMS)

The MMS enables LPS Data Managers to:
* Confirm [**File 1**](../ffg_guidance/file1s/file1_checklist.md) submissions before sending files to DHCW
* View details of previous File 1s
* Add metadata for new attribute datasets ([**File 2s**](../ffg_guidance/file2s/file2_checklist.md)), or new versions of existing datasets, before sending the data to SeRP
* Review study and dataset metadata, make corrections, and keep existing information up to date.
